🌟 Recommendation Details

Sam Warren, a regular sixth grader is just trying to live out his childhood and enjoy his life. However, there is just one thing that is ruining it, school. More specifically, homework. His sister Sadie's life is even worse, being in high school and getting on the debate team means extra homework. She stays up until four o' clock and drinks caffeine to power her up just so she can get those extra points for her AP classes. Sam is tired of all of this and stands up on his desk during school. He protests and his friends support him. He convinces his neighbor, a retired lawyer Mr. Kalman to sue and get his rights back. After several fundraisers online that go viral with students all over the country trying to declare homework as unconstitutional. After many tries, they finally manage to make it into the court, although no hope. After trying another time, they have one last appeal. They take it to the Supreme Court, but his neighbor and attorney Mr. Kalman never shows up to the court. The two siblings have no choice but to argue and defend themselves. After an intense session, the court ruled 7 to 2 that homework was officially declared unconstitutional. Sam finally had time to have a childhood. I would recommend this book because not only it teaches you about the process of court cases and laws, it also teaches you to stand up for your rights. Knowing you have freedom and can speak up about it is an important thing anywhere that anyone deserves to have.
