Patrick's/Pat's brother, Cooper has always been mischievous and full of big ideas. It's been one year since Cooper has run away, leaving no notes or warning to his little brother. Recently, Cooper found a way to communicate with Pat and the two brothers started messaging each other using a complex system. However, when Cooper abruptly stops sending messages, Patrick starts getting worried and decides to find things out himself. Taking a train to where Cooper usually drops the messages, he starts asking around and eventually finds out about a society called the Community. However, he finds out his brother is in the Deep, a place where comes out from and that Cooper is now held prisoner in the Deep. The Community calls people in the Deep, members of the Pod. Against the wish of the Community, Patrick sets out on a quest to save/find his brother. The only problem is how they will find Cooper assuming they even reach the Deep and go undetected by members of the Pod. With a girl called Kate and the determination to find his brother, will Patrick be able to save his brother? Or will he fail and also become prisoner to the Deep? I really recommend Beneath by Roland Smith because it's an intense yet exciting adventure to follow along.
