📖 Keeper of the Lost Cities

Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She's skipped multiple grades and doesn't really connect with the older kids at school, but she's not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie's a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret—at least, that's what she think. But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she's not alone. He's a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well…she isn't. Fitz opens Sophie's eyes to a shocking truth, and she is forced to leave behind her family for a new life in a place that is vastly different from what she has ever known. But Sophie still has secrets, and they're buried deep in her memory for good reason: The answers are dangerous and in high- demand. What is her true identity, and why was she hidden among humans? The truth could mean life or death—and time is running out. My Recommendation: I strongly suggest this book to students that like The Land of Stories or Story Thieves. This series is a similar concept but at the same time has its own speciality to it. Twelve-year-old Sophie Foster and her family reside in San Diego, California. A weird youngster named Fitz finds her when she's on a school field trip and informs her that she is an elf with a rare ability to read minds. He tells Sophie to move to the Lost Cities, a secret location where elves and other fantastical creatures dwell. She is compelled to leave her human family and live with Grady and Edaline Ruewen, two elvins who will eventually adopt her. Sophie still has a lot to learn and understand, though. She discovers that a rebel faction called the Black Swan "created" her, and that the Neverseen are hatching a terrible scheme to overthrow a council… I recommend this book because it is a realistic fiction novel perfect for adventurous readers. Readers can follow Sophie on her journey to discovery and wonder. *Note: This book is a part of a nine-book series called "Keeper of the Lost Cities".
