Have you ever wondered about the life cycle of a rat? No? Well I didn't, till I stumbled upon this book. Its drawings are simple and descriptive. The information is straight on and engaging. Readers will discover many answers to their rat questions in this book. The author uses brown mice as an example. I honestly never knew that baby rats were called pups. I always called them baby rats. This story also takes the reader into different stages of his/her life. It of course starts with a mate and the female gives birth to a litter (No! This word is not describing trash, it's when a group of young animals, rats in this case, is born to an animal at the same time) of pups. I recommend this book to rat-lovers and readers alike. Here's a fun fact. Rats aren't dirty animals. In fact they are less likely to catch diseases or transfer them to other animals. Dogs and cats, sorry, can't say the same!
