🌟 Recommendation Details

A clever mouse takes a peaceful stroll through the woods, but the mouse encounters many hungry predators like a fox, owl, and snake who all try to trick the mouse into visiting their home so they can eat the mouse. The mouse declines each offer and strategically tells the predators about his plan to "meet and dine with a Gruffalo." Then, the mouse describes frightening features of the Gruffalo, which scares every one of the predators away. Suddenly, the mouse turns around in surprise to see a real Gruffalo! The cunning mouse, however, has another trick that scares the real Gruffalo and leaves him in peace to eat a nut. Read the book to find out about the trick! Reason for Recommendation: Based off an original Chinese folktale "The Fox that Borrows the Terror of a Tiger," The Gruffalo has won many awards, like the Nestle Smarties Book Prize, and the book has had such a huge legacy that a movie was adapted to it. This book has a great rhyming text and stunning illustrations that resemble the author's descriptions. It was ranked the first of favorite children's books from a 2010 survey.
