🌟 Recommendation Details

When the author moved into Poet's Square during the pandemic, she didn't know that it came with thirty feral cats. The author had to help them, with their starvation and suffering apparent, with dying kittens and yowling all night. What she didn't know was that helping the cats would bring her internet fame, or that she would give the lovable cats silly names like Sad Boy, Goldie, Lola, Monkey. In a time when she was more focused on her own survival, with a low paying job. Caring for the cats, finding ways to get food for them, expanding her work to more cats, and discovering and trying to fix the broken systems that left 30 stray cats at Poet's Square. I recommend this book because of the way the author tells her story, with compelling imagery of the terrible conditions, as well as the beautiful moments. The author also opens up about past trauma and mental health issues, and how cats had helped her through difficult times, and the book overall is a turbulent journey, taking you along for the ride.
