🌟 Recommendation Details

16 year old Adam Eddington is spending the summer at an island off Portugal working as a marine biology student studying advanced cellular regeneration tissue for his internship. The story starts off as Adam in the airport where he's waiting for his delayed flight due to the summer fog. He meets Kali, a young woman who strikes up a conversation with him and warns him against Canon Tallis (his colleague) and Dr. O'Keefe (who he works for). Adam heeds the warning and works along with Kali Cutter and her father in working as a spy in collecting information to prevent the dangerous cellular regeneration study of Dr. O'Keefe. Dr. O'Keefe's research has an immense impact that can be used in the ethical medical field to make it so that humans are able to regenerate lost limbs or parts, but it can also be exploited to gain economic and political power. However, as Adam is drawn into the opposing sides, he finds that things are not as simple as he originally thought and he may have been the turning point between an international rivalry between two groups pursuing control. Which side will Adam take when faced with the burden of such influential research? I highly recommend this novel because it depicts a thrilling mystery and science fiction chase that resonates with the meaning of a double blade - while it's able to change and aid many lives on an ethical side when given to the wrong person, it would lead to devastating consequences.
