On the edge of the town, there was a house, and inside that house, lived an old man, called Old Man Fookwire. He hated a lot of things. He hated puppies, he hated pie. And most importantly, he was a grump. But there was one thing that he actually liked. Birds! All summer, all day, Old Man Fookwire would go outside and paint pictures of the birds that flew around his backyard. Blue Birds, Red birds, Round birds, you name it, Old Man Fookwire painted them all. But soon, winter was coming, and he knew that the birds would fly south, and he would become lonely. But suddenly, an idea came to mind. He could feed the birds, and maybe, just maybe, they would stay! He built many birdfeeders, and hung them around his backyard, filling them with berries. Birds came all the way to his backyard, just to eat! But what Old Man Fookwire didn't know was that birds weren't the only ones that liked the food. There were other creatures, like those darn squirrels! Soon every bird feeder was empty, and the squirrel's stomachs were full. Will those darn Squirrels stop eating the bird's food? Will the birds stay? And if they don't, will Old Man Fookwire still be lonely? I recommend this book because there are colorful and funny illustrations. It also has parts that will sure to make you laugh out loud!
