Hi, my name is Annie and I am going to tell you about this book called: Sounds all around. First, did you even know that when you talk, the sound doesn't start in your mouth? Instead, it starts in your throat! Feel your throat when you talk or when you sing. Your fingertips tingle because of your vocal cords. They shake back and forth very fast. This is called a vibration. Now don't talk and sing, then feel your throat. Your vocal cords are still because there are no sounds, and therefore there are zero vibrations! Sounds play very important parts in our lives. Now, did you know you can measure sounds? How soft or loud you whisper and YELL is measured in decibels. For example, whispering is about 30 decibels. Talking is about 60 decibels. Yelling is about 85 decibels. Sounds are all around us. Just open your ears and listen! I recommend this book to people who enjoy learning sounds.
