Ryan, a girl in her last year of elementary school, is enthusiastically participating in exciting class projects for Black History Month with her friends. In addition to having playdates with friends and spending time with her grandma, she has a secret project planned to prank her brother. She also worries that her best friend may go to a different middle school than her. Inspired by a local Black pioneer who started a personal library one book at a time for Black history and warmly serves tea to everyone in the neighborhood. Ryan shares her passion of cooking both at school and at home. While Ryan doesn't know how to answer the question of how to change the world when she grows up. After talking with friends and her family, she realizes she has a lot to do to make a positive impact every day. As long as she cares about people, does what she loves, and sets goals, Ryan believes her dream will come true.
