📖 Children of Eden

"Children of Eden" By Joey Graceffa is a dystopian novel set in a future in which climate change has caused the government to heavily control the population. The protagonist, Sera, has a rare gift that allows her to communicate with nature. She uses this to uncover dark truths about the oppressive government, including a secret community called Eden. She must find Eden to obtain freedom and hope for her society. Along Sera's journey, she struggles with her powers and identity, as well as betrayal from those around her. I would recommend this book because it is a very whimsical take on the dystopian genre. While dark and complex, it also incorporates magical-fantasy-like elements. It also explores very important theme of hope, resilience, and fighting against a tyrannical government. Its emphasis on humanity's connection to the environment is very prominent, especially in today's world with increasing climate change.
