They have various jobs across America, one including protecting Abraham Lincoln! This book is amazing because it portrays many themes into one. First, feminism, because at that time, women were not considered suitable for jobs like detectives. Second, anti-slavery, it's a good account of historical events like the civil war and how people had mixed opinions.
