Theo is facing off in a heated debate with the other team at the start of the book. After the debate, he returns to his class at school and finds out that his orchestra teacher is getting fired, along with all the janitors at his school due to a funding cut from the newly elected corrupt governor of his state. He is extremely conflicted with this. Soon after, a scout from his boy scout group asks him for legal advice about his grandparents' farm. It's getting removed because of supposed eminent domain, but building a new road is not necessary and doesn't follow the actual law. More of corrupt things are happening, and Theodore Boone decides to do something about it. I would recommend this book because it teaches children some law terms and allows them to speak up about situations and to use their voice.
