"A Long Walk to Water" begins with two stories, telling about two eleven-year olds in Sudan, a girl in 2008 and a boy in 1985. In 2008, Nya, the girl, is fetching water from the pond that 2 hours away by walking from her home, and she repeats this trip to the pond every day. The boy, Salva, in 1985, becomes one of the lost boys of Sudan, refugees who cover the continent of Africa by foot as they try to search for a safe place to stay and their families. This story shows the endurance of these two from every hardship, from loneliness, to being attacked by armed rebels, to being attacked by killer lions and crocodiles. I would overly recommend this story to all for how moving it is, with the fact that it represents the hardship that many face everyday just to survive. A Long Walk to Water
