📖 Perfect Cover

Perfect Cover, also titled The Squad #1, is a teenage suspense novel written by Jennifer Lynn Barnes in 2008. It features Toby Klein, a sophomore who excels in hacking, is a black belt in karate, is very opinionated, dislikes popular cheer-leader cliques at Bayport High, and decides to take up cheerleading after receiving an unusual encrypted invitation to attend try-outs for the squad. To Toby's astonishment, it turns out that members of the squad are trained government spies, the God Squad, whose cover enables them to conduct various covert operations for the CIA. The book includes Toby's choice between being involved with the squad and keeping her distance from the organization, and features snappy dialogues, rivalry between Toby and her brother Noah, and Toby's relationship with Jack, whose father is a villain. I highly recommend this book to people who enjoy undercover secret spy and government agencies and adventure, all told in an extremely descriptive first person point of view.
