📖 Kingdom's Dawn

The scene opens out with Leinad practicing swordsmanship with his father, Peyton. With four years of constant training every day, he's now sixteen years old but almost as good as a master swordsman. Leonard's family are farmers on the plains of Kerr and live peaceful lives. They stop by Mankin, a town close by where they buy materials. When they visit the blacksmith shop, Gabrik (the blacksmith) fixes Rosa's shoe. After buying some food, he accidentally drops the bag. Picking the food up, he notices that an apple has rolled to a girl's feet but surprisingly she gives it back to him, instead of just taking it. After Leinad insists she takes it, she thanks him and Peyton comes back. They find out the girl's name is Tess and is being "owned" by a horrid lady called Mrs. Wimble. After saving Tess from Mrs. Wimble, Peyton adopts her and they consider her family. Tess adjusts with her new life and is a hard worker. During another swordsmanship training lesson, it's revealed that Peyton didn't want to prepare Leinad to become a farmer but for something much greater. Peyton tells Leinad about the history of the kingdom and about a rebellion, led by Lucious (The Dark Knight). Leinad finds out why his father has always been so loyal to the King. After the training session, when arriving deep inside a forest, he's met with an eerie silence and feels an impending doom. Leinad is captured by a group of scarred men and challenged by a man to a deadly fight which he has no choice but to accept. Will he ever see his family again? What is his true purpose? Kingdom's Dawn incorporates elements of suspense and vivid pictures painted from the words. Leinad's tale is wild, heart-felt and adventurous mentally and physically.
