It's Thanksgiving, and the Bassets are getting ready for their thanksgiving feast! However, their poor grandma is seriously ill, so their parents set off to their grandma's house. The eldest, Tilly, and the second eldest, Prue, get the feast ready while the younger kids go sledding. Tilly and Prue happily get everything ready. While some things go awry, their parents come home with two sledfulls of people. Since Mr. Chadwick must have gotten the wrong information, and their grandmother was fine, they decided to have a big feast! They had invited most of their relatives to come. The family has a wonderful feast, except for the plum pudding, (which Tilly forgot the sugar and salt)turning out hard and heavy. I suggest this book because of the realistic paintings, the recipe for Apple Slump, and the message of family.
