When their test is to capture a dragon, Hiccup gets the worst luck possible: a small, toothless dragon. And worse? It won't obey any of Hiccup's commands: fetch fish, attack, stay, and go. As the final test to determine if they will be heroes or exiles approaches, Hiccup desperately tries to communicate with Toothless — even talking to him in the rare language of Dragon. It all seems lost for the two of them when two terrifying Death dragons appear in the village, terrorizing anybody and anything. But when Hiccup is called up for the job, maybe he has a place in the Viking world after all. I recommend this book because it is hilarious and teaches kids the way of patience and being yourself.
