It is the end of the 21st century, and Earth is under control of One True, which is a program that runs off of connected human brains. Mars, on the other hand, is not, and it has become filled with humans there. However, the planet isn't completely developed yet, as people still need special technology like suits to go out. Terpsichore Murray, or Teri, is approaching adulthood on Mars. She wants to follow in her father's steps, to become an eco-prospector. However, her father, Telemachus, disagrees and hopes she instead will stay in school and go along with him on a trip. But we all know that books don't end as happily as we want them to, right? So of course, disaster strikes and it's up to Teri to save Mars, humans, and probably the whole solar system… alone. I recommend this book because it's full of sci-fi. Although in my opinion this book was a little bit slow at first, it sped up pretty rapidly to the point where I was sometimes getting confused. However, if you're interested in sci-fi or outer space, I believe this would be a good book for you!
