A good luck cat has nine lives and is very lucky. Only a few of the cats alive are good luck cats. Woogie the cat is one of them. But, Woogie's nine lives were spent pretty fast. She lost one of her lives when she climbed into a car's motor to warm up and nearly lost her tail, and another for falling out of a tree catching birds. However, her ninth life was soon coming to an end, because one day Woogie went missing. She wasn't anywhere in the house or even the grocery store. Everyone in the neighborhood had not seen Woogie. For many days, Woogie was not seen, and no one could find her. However, on the fifth morning, Woogie turned up on the doorstep, sleeping and happy. This is a wonderful story by the famous poet Joy Harjo, the first Native American U.S. Laureate. I recommend this book because it is written by Joy Harjo, and its beautiful artwork style.
