Once lived a school of happy red fish except for one that was black and fast called Swimmy. One tragic day, a huge fish gulped and swallowed all of the fish, but only Swimmy had escaped. Swimmy, now lonely and sad, then swam around in the deep-sea world until one day, he found a new family to be in. However, his new family was very scared of one giant fish. Still, with teamwork, creativity, and courage, Swimmy and his new family are capable of overcoming any danger. Reason for Recommendation: This beautiful and creative book was a winner of the 1964 Caldecott Honor.
