This book narrates the life experiences of the protagonist John's family and his transformation as a Black child converting to religion. John was expected to become a pastor like his father when he grew up. The book recounts the stories of his stepfather, mother, and aunt in three parts: The Seventh Day, The Saint's Prayer, and The Threshing Floor. In my opinion, many stories in the Bible are fascinating. Whenever I visit the doctor, my doctor always prays for me at the end of the appointment. I believe there are countless problems in the vast universe that humans cannot solve. God is great, and humans are small. Haha, I'm not trying to promote anything, just sharing my personal thoughts with you. What impressed me most in this book was the scene where John confessed while lying on the altar floor. The emotions were portrayed with great delicacy, and the depiction of his inner thoughts was vivid and moving. I hope this book inspires you as well.
